This high-accuracy electromagnetic flow sensor and transmitter is specifically designed for measuring strong acids with DN80 pipe size, offering versatile installation options and reliable performance.
Instrument Installation Guidelines
Proper installation is critical for accurate measurement, optimal performance, and extended service life of the electromagnetic flowmeter.
Installation Site Selection
  • Avoid locations near magnetic objects and strong electromagnetic equipment (large motors, transformers) to prevent interference with sensor magnetic fields and flow signals
  • Install in dry, ventilated areas - avoid damp or flood-prone locations
  • Protect from direct sun and rain exposure; maintain environment below 60°C and under 95% relative humidity
  • Choose easily accessible locations for maintenance and service
  • Install on the discharge side of pumps, not the suction side; position valves downstream of the flowmeter
Installation Requirements
  • Sensor can be installed in straight pipes, horizontal pipes, or tilted pipes with electrodes positioned horizontally
  • Ensure full pipe flow at installation point to prevent air pockets on electrodes
  • For liquid-solid two-phase flow, vertical installation is recommended for even liner wear and extended service life
  • If partial flow conditions exist, elevate downstream piping to maintain full pipe flow - avoid installation at pipeline peaks or outlets
  • For non-standard velocity conditions, use reducer cones or modified pipe sections matching sensor diameter with straight pipe requirements: upstream ≥10 DN, downstream ≥5 DN
  • Maintain straight pipe sections: upstream ≥10 DN, downstream ≥5 DN (where DN is pipe diameter)
Instrument Connection
  • For remote signal connection, use only customized special cables - shorter lengths preferred
  • Excitation cables should use YZ medium rubber cable matching signal cable length
  • Signal cables must be separated from power cables and not run in the same conduit
  • Keep signal and excitation cables as short as possible; cut excess length rather than coiling
  • At sensor interface, form cable into U-shape to prevent water ingress
